It all started with...

Our little brother Pablo, who was born with Down syndrome.

It is the will of two engineer brothers to create a solution for their little brother. Pablo is non-verbal, meaning he communicates through pictograms. Set up by his speech therapist, his binder of laminated and cardboard pictograms was a good starting tool. However, its size and weight were a limit to communicate outside the home. No application allowed having a binder directly on his phone, so we developed one.

Our mission

We want every person with an intellectual disability to fully participate in society and enjoy greater autonomy. We believe that our society has a lot to gain by including everyone.

• 2020

  Beginning of development

  The pandemic ironically gave us time and brought us together as a family. We opened our eyes to Pablo's issues.

• 2021

  Winner of the "Coups de pouces passion" from the INSA Lyon Foundation

  Pictalk's first award. The prize helped pay for the initial infrastructure.

• 2022

  Winner of the "Digital Innovation" award at the Handitech Trophy 2022 edition

  Our pitch in front of an audience of at least 100 people, a first for us! We are extremely proud to have won this national competition that brings together the most talented HandiTech professionals.

• 2023

  Participation in the CESER awards of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region

  The CESER awards bring together the finest initiatives that are part of the AuRA region. We were not winners, but we nevertheless encountered some great projects.

• 2024

  Incubation at the INRIA Startup Studio in Lyon

  This is a major milestone for Pictalk. We have started working on the project full time and aim to find a sustainable model for the applications.
