Agenda AAC on a smartwatch?

The AAC Agenda application is now available on phone, tablet, and computer, offering great flexibility in use. The phone, in particular, is appreciated for its lightness, portability, connectivity, and integrated speakers. But we are not stopping there! We are now considering offering AAC Agenda in smartwatch format.

Why a smartwatch?

The idea came to us by observing the success of applications like PictoTask by Cyril Rossignol and WatchHelp by Estelle, two caregiving parents who, thanks to their innovations, supported over 10,000 people. Today, these applications are no longer available, leaving a real gap for users who need them daily.

The smartwatch offers unique advantages. Unlike the phone, it remains attached to the wrist, reducing the risk of loss and making notifications and reminders always accessible at a glance. It is also a more discreet and less stigmatizing tool, ideal for use in school or professional settings.

An essential-focused tool

Certainly, a smartwatch screen is limited. But it is precisely this simplicity that makes it a powerful support! It avoids distractions such as internet browsing or games, allowing for a focus on the essentials.

A solution adapted for ASD and cognitive disabilities

For individuals with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders), Down Syndrome, or other cognitive disabilities, the smartwatch ensures discreet and constant support. It reduces dependence on the phone, which can lead to distractions or unwanted behaviors.

Our feature ideas for AAC Agenda on a smartwatch:

Pre-recorded messages with pictograms for quick communication

SOS function to quickly alert caregivers in case of need

Sequencing catalogs to guide daily actions

Daily schedule always accessible and at hand

We are aware that phones are often prohibited in certain establishments (MEC, EMA, ESAT) due to their effects on attention and behavior. In contrast, watches and tablets are much more tolerated.
