Block access to certain applications
For Apple devices (iPhone and iPad)
This feature is only available starting from iOS 17. Here are the models that support it: iPhone SE (2nd generation), iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone 11 and above. iPad (6th generation and above), iPad Air (3rd generation and above), iPad Mini (5th generation and above), iPad Pro.
Why enable "Assistive Access » ?
It is a setting that helps facilitate the use of the phone or tablet by offering simpler applications (less features, clearer display) and a list of authorized applications. Accessibility is particularly suitable for people with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, ASD, DYS disorders, Down syndrome, etc.
Steps to configure "Assistive Access"
Go to your Settings > Accessibility > Assistive Access:
Set up your accessibility:
Select authorized applications (in my case: Calendar and Calls):
It is worth noting that you can specify settings and permissions for each added application. In my case, I only allow the Calls app to receive calls from registered contacts.
Enter "Assistive Access" mode:
Here is the final result:
Thanks to this feature, the phone is locked and only “useful” applications can be opened. Access to settings is also blocked.
